Keywords for insulation contractors: what homeowners type before they hire a crew

This page lists the keywords for insulation contractors that a homeowner is most likely to type when a job is on the horizon. We sorted them by the errand behind the search and by how much search weight each one carries, so a crew can see which pages and ads they belong to.

Reading the bay levels

Every phrase below comes from a Nov 2026 pull of 636 insulation searches. Rather than print counts, we sort each phrase into a bay: Full bay for the heaviest searches, Half bay for the solid middle, Quarter bay for the smaller ones and Skim for the thin end. A thin phrase is not a poor one. A crawlspace crew may find its whole month in a skim phrase.

The pull is dominated by word-order twins: dozens of ways of writing the same spray foam or attic search, each with its own entry. We merged the twins and printed one. The data also holds long runs of cost and price searches, equipment hire, store names, material comparisons and kit-based jobs for a homeowner doing the work alone. We leave those out of the tables. They are not a contractor's customers, and what a crew says about price is the owner's call.

From a homeowner's moment to the sheet that answers it

Each row starts with a point in the decision, gives wording people use there and names the sheet in the stack that should be ready.

Trade-name and company searches

Someone who types the trade name itself has usually settled on hiring out the work and is now looking for who does it. These are the phrases that carry that mood.

Spray foam searches

Spray foam draws the most search weight in this trade and the widest spread of people, so the person-and-errand column matters more here than anywhere else.

Attic searches

The attic is the job most homeowners picture first. The searches range from a crew hunt to a how-it-works question, and only the first kind should land on a booking path.

Blown-in searches

Blown-in material is a distinct job in the searcher's head. The phrases below keep to the people who want a crew to do it, not the ones asking how a blower works.

Wall, crawlspace, garage and removal searches

Place-name forms

City and state forms are rare in this trade, a handful of lines in a long data pull. They show where a place-name page can earn its keep.
Phrase keyed inBay levelThe homeowner's errand
insulation contractor marylandSkimA state-wide search, wide and vague
los angeles insulation contractorSkimA city search with the city first
insulation contractor los angelesSkimThe same city with the trade first

Searches that never lead to a quote visit

A large part of the pull is not a hiring search at all. A crew that lets these into its ad account pays for clicks that will never ring.

insulation installation jobsSkimA person looking for work, not a crew

The point the homeowner's decision has reached

The same trade search changes mood as a decision firms up. The wording gives the stage away, and each stage points to a different next layer.

What never made it onto these tables

Four families of searches never appear above. The first is cost and price phrasing, which is plentiful and which the owner alone decides how to answer. The second is anything that asks about measured performance of a material, which is a claim we do not write for a crew. The third is store, brand and equipment hire searches. The fourth is the large block of do-it-yourself and kit searches, whose senders are building a job of their own. An ad account for an insulation contractor should be told to ignore all four from its first day.

Place names are the one family we keep sparse on purpose. A town-by-town structure can be laid long before a city phrase shows up in a data pull, because homeowners add a town name when they are close to calling.

Questions about reading the bay levels

Why are there no search counts on this page?

Counts from a keyword pull move from month to month and differ between tools, so a printed figure would look more exact than it is. The four bay levels give the order of magnitude, which is what decides whether a phrase earns a page or an ad group.

Which phrase should an insulation crew build a page around first?

Usually the trade-name search tied to the town the crew works in most, because it comes from the visitor closest to hiring. After that come the job pages for the installs the crew wants more of. The scope call is the place to settle the order.

Does a bigger bay mean a better phrase?

No. The biggest bays hold the most mixed crowd, with hirers, learners and shoppers all typing the same words. A smaller phrase from a person with a specific space in mind can be worth more to a crew than a full-bay one. Our lead generation page covers how the tracking tells them apart.

Do you target the do-it-yourself searches?

No. Those are blocked from the start of every ad account we run, and no page is built to attract them. The paid ads page explains how blocking works month to month.

When was this snapshot taken, and does it age?

The list is a snapshot taken in November 2026. When we plan a crew's pages or ad groups we pull again for the crew's own towns, since local wording differs from the national spread shown here.

Which towns and install types should get more sheets?

Name the towns on your service map where the calendar feels thin and the kinds of installs you want more of: attic, wall, crawlspace, spray foam or removal. A few lines are plenty, and any customer names or home addresses should stay out of them.

Tell us about the crew and its map

List the towns your crew covers and the installs you hope to book more of, in as many or as few lines as suit you. The slot picker below is optional, and a written reply comes by email. Please leave customers’ names and home addresses out.
